How to Get To Langkawi Island

From Kuala Lumpur, you can get a flight to Langkawi. The Langkawi International Airport is about 20 km distance from Kuah and 8 km from the beach resorts.

You can take Express Ferry Services from three locations which are Kuala Kedah (Kedah state), Kuala Perlis (Perlis state) or Penang (Penang state) from mainland Malaysia. You can drive to those states by the North-South Expressway. The journey by road from Kuala Lumpur takes approximately six hours to Kuala Kedah, approximately seven hours to Kuala Perlis and approximately five hours to Penang.

The fastest journey from jetty to Langkawi Island is from Kuala Perlis.
